On this road called life I'd be obstacles
coming at us from left to right
Like playing a game to see who's going to win
it's if asking can you hang and fight

Well here's my answer to thee O' life
I knew of the challenge before
The blue-print was presented ahead of time
I knew it wouldn't be a easy chore

Not all times I'll hear, good job well done
nor a smile and pat on the back
And no cheers on the side to root me on
but I accepted this run of the track

Each day's a test of faith, and will power
facing each one and doing my best
With it's no holds barred I tackle the challenge
for no victory is won without a test

There were times O' life I had you planned out
had it in my heart in what to do
And wouldn't you know it, my cart overturned
but O' life I still challenge you

I have to take it in stride with a sense of humor
and to beat you at your own game
Plus accept the surprise's when they come
in knowing nothing stays the same

O' life you were there at my first step
there waiting in the shadows for me
I imagine you saying, ahh, new kid on the block
now I wonder what do they want to be

The fight is on to see what I'm made of
and more wood was added to the fire
Cast into life's arena, fighting each day
but, still hold fast to my desire

So I rolled up my sleeves and took hold the reins
to follow the trail with hopes inside
In knowing I'm given a choice to win or lose
but I say O' life I accept the ride
