Now on the threshold of time-
a dispute was taking place
And it was concerning you and I
God looked on mankind with compassion
after He saw saddness in each eye
So He stepped down from His throne of Glory
and came to see about them and me
He knew we were lost, without any hope
so He paid the bond to set us free
He sent forth mercy and grace to rescue us
and told love to cover us up
For God knew we needed a Savior
someone to drink of the suffering cup
Then Satan said; no one's worthy of your love
look at all the bad things they have done
God said; Satan you fool don't you think I knew
that was why I sent my Son
But again Satan said, they ran from bar to bar
and used up their lives like a game
God said; I'm aware, of their faults and hang ups
and I'm able to wash away their shame
But that wasn't enough, Satan accused again
and said; they did this and that today
But God said; that's ok! I left the door open
to use the key of repentance when they pray
Satan said; why waste your time with them
I wouldn't if it was up to me
God said that's why I kicked you out of heaven
because, you and I never did agree
God told Satan you'll never stop my work
for you don't see in what I see
That's why I had to go that extra mile
and redeem the lost back to me
