OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

The new year is finally upon us at last

And the old year is a thing of the past

Opportunities have all come and gone

But good and bad memories linger on

If only I could take that long trip back

Correcting the impressions I did lack

Just to right the wrongs that did occur

The many bad habits that are still a blur

To start over in this new year is my plea

Giving the past to God on bended knee

Asking the big favor in the Son's name

Requesting of Him my soul to reclaim

Now happy forever in my Father's love

Peace He gave from His throne above

My new life is finally upon me at last

My old life is now a thing of the past

Amen!

A new year, a chance for a new future, that's all one can ask. We can never go back and correct our wrongs of the past but we can learn from our mistakes and correct the future. (Matthew 11:28-30)

So, where is your focus today: on the temporal circumstances of your life or on the glorious hope of the return of Jesus Christ? (1 Cor 15:51-54) (1 Thess 4:13-18)

In the meantime, while still on this old sphere we call Earth, we must continue to trust God's principles of:

Prayer (Philippians 4:6-7)
Serving Christ (Romans 14:17-19)
Love (2 Corinthians 13:11)
Obedience (1 Peter 1:2
Trust (Isaiah 12:2)
Faith (Romans 5:1)

Yes, the New Year is rapidly approaching. What will you do with it? Let's just start with the here and now.
