Humility, Acceptance, Election

The Bible says that God gives grace to the humble. True but how did the humble become humble? By an act of their free will? No, for that would mean the cause of our humility was within ourselves and we would have reason to boast but rather our humility is owing to God's grace.

Faithful preachers will say, "God doesn't accept us as we are" This is true.

Scripture says we are MADE ACCEPTED in the beloved which is Christ Jesus. "Wherein, He hath made us accepted in the beloved. (Eph. 1:6)

NOTE: Our acceptance is not based on our good works or any foreseen faith in us as sinners but only because of God's sovereign electing grace. As a result we become humble in a supernatural way.

Salvation is by grace through faith and that not of ourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast." Eph 2:8-9

The reason for our election and acceptance by God is found in the following verses: "According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." Ephesians 1:5-7

The sovereign God of scripture chooses certain people not based on anything in them but "according to the good pleasure of His will."

Believers have been made accepted by the grace of God. Every child of God will confess this wonderful truth.
