Knocking into God's will

Jeremiah: 33:3 –“Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not”.

Knowing God’s will is amazing and especially pursuing it is a beautiful experience. Before talking about pursuing God’s will, I want to share two experiences that I had in a store in New York earlier this month.

I was busy doing my last-minute shopping mostly around the perfume section. An elderly man walked up to me and asked me if I could help him with something. Then he asked, “Which one of these glasses do you suggest?”. He tried on both for me to decide and pick my choice. And when I told him my choice, he was glad I picked the one he liked. All he wanted was someone to persuade him to pick that up and not stand there looking at both the glasses. I was glad I could help him. In life, we have always two roads before us and we get confused with which one to pick. And with questions populating our mind, “Is this the one for me”, “Am I heading in the right direction” so on, we feel we are stuck… At this point we just want to pause and ask someone for help for making us understand the plus and minus of a particular decision or a path we are about to take. The most important thing is, “Are we looking to God for His GO in our life or is He our last resort”. We need to make it an essential thing in our life to ask God first for His will because He has known us even before we were formed in our mother’s womb. Don’t’ you think our future is secure and figured out by Him?

Then I went on to my shopping spree mode again. And this time a lady came up and asked me if I could help her pick up a perfume. Then she looked at the one I picked for myself and asked me if she can see that. I took the sample one and handed it to her and also showed which section she can find it. I wasn’t sure if she would like my choice but I gave her my suggestion. Later when I crossed her again, I couldn’t help myself notice her basket. She had picked up the one I suggested!!!  I was happy that I could help in some way.  Isn’t it an amazing feeling when you are telling someone your suggestion and also  it’s an awesome feeling when they take your suggestion very seriously.

With our lives so busy with everyday schedules, we sometimes forget to ask God His will for our lives whether it be a relationship, career etc.. He wants to shower us with His goodness and love every day.  And when we ask His will and we also must be ready to set our mind and heart to take it.  He’s never wrong in His will towards us. He gives His children the best and His plan for our lives is so beautiful more than we can imagine

Let’s  make it a priority by asking Him to help us look at things through His eyes and help us follow the plan He has in store for us. The interaction with the man and lady reminded me to look up to Jesus when I need help especially when it comes to making important decisions in my life. I know He’s there and I know He’s waiting for me to call out to Him and ask for His leading in my life. His word says in Jeremiah: 33:3 –“Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not”. Wow! That’s a powerful verse which exhibits God’s love, power and His Fatherhood towards us.

I encourage you to go to the presence of the Lord to ask His will. If you are struggling not knowing which path to take, go to the Lord’s presence and ask Him the beautiful orchestrated plan He has in store for you. He’s just a call away!!!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this privilege you have given us in coming to Your presence with assurance that You direct our steps. Lord, we thank You for all that You have done for us and we pray that You show us Your plan in our lives. Guide us in which to take and we need Your presence to overtake us completely. We love You. In Jesus Christ name. Amen.
