“For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.” John 3:34-36 NIV
Jesus was sent to mankind by the Heavenly Father to provide us with the Father’s word. The Father wishes that we would know His will. Jesus certainly was able to let us know the Father’s will, as He was given the Holy Spirit without limit. Within the new covenant established between mankind and the Father, through Jesus Christ and our submission to Him we are given the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Father does not measure out the amount of the Spirit to be given. Any limitation within a believer, along with their actions is a result of the believer not having a total submission to the indwelling Spirit.
The Father loves the Son. The love between the Father and the Son is mentioned several places within this gospel. The Father has given everything to the Son. The Son has been given the right to judge. All must turn to Christ to be saved. There is no other way in which we may be saved. Our eternal destiny lies in our acceptance or rejection of Jesus Christ.
We who believe in and submit ourselves to Jesus Christ have eternal life. It begins with the acceptance of Him as our Savior and Lord and our submission to His will for us. We who believe will spend eternity in heaven, in our new heavenly bodies, with the Father and the Son. Those who choose to reject Christ will face an eternity banished from the presence of God, and will face God’s eternal wrath. Those who do not believe, in my opinion, do not understand this eternal fate they will face. If they did understand certainly many more would seek the Lord.
So much wisdom and insight is contained within scripture. It is so rich and nourishing to the soul. Feast always on God’s word!
