Making A Difference

From the moment of birth, the course is set…
We now have to determine, where it takes us next…
In the beginning we just want to play, and get wet…

But as time flies like a concord jet…
Our peers are determining, and placing their bets…
To see if our skills have been mastered yet…
To make a difference in a world not kept…

The pressure is mounting to make an impression…
It’s time to start; the class is in session…
But the obstacles in life, keeps us in recession…

Fears are ringing in the atmosphere…
Go back!
Retreat!
Don’t advance!
Halt!
The difference we make will never be clear…

So we lay our heads down, on the pillow at night…
Procrastination is our destiny, and only plight…

The final conclusion to our last breath…
The difference we could have made, before we rest…

We lay still like stone, and no one sees…
The life we were gifted, and were meant to be...
