Children of God

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” (John 1:12-13 NIV)

Notice in these verses it tells us that ALL who receive Him and believe in His name are given the right to be called children of God. Jesus will not turn away anyone who comes to Him with a repentant heart, wanting to be washed cleaned with His precious blood. This is truly a promise from Jesus. We do not have to worry if we are truly a child of God if we believe in the Lord Jesus and are obedient to Him. He has promised us. And Jesus has NEVER EVER failed to deliver on a promise He has made.

We are born of God through being “born again”. Nicodemus did not understand what this meant. Our hearts, minds, and souls must have a rebirth from the selfish, self-centered desires that we had before we gave our hearts to Christ. We are so different after we turn our lives over to the care of our beloved Master and Savior. We truly are BORN AGAIN in the soul, heart, and mind. It might be a bit hard to see at first, but with the maturation process it will be quite evident to anyone who has “eyes” to “see”.

To the worldly this is a mystery. To the believer it is the beginning of eternal life. Doesn’t it feel wonderful to be a child of God? Breathe deeply in the love our God has shown to us, His children!
