The subjects of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7 KJV), and faith do cause division, and we all have a stance on them. There is no such a thing as a neutral party. You are either with Christ, or you are not with Christ (Luke 11:23 NASB). You are a child of God, or you are a child of the devil (1 John 3:10 NIV). You’re on a plane toward Heaven or a train toward hell. You stand for righteousness, or you stand for unrighteousness.
If you band with ungodly persons, then you are a part of whatever wicked cause for which they stand. If you partake in their evil, you partake in satan's evil. Unfortunately, you're not a neutral party in God’s eyes. You either love Him, or you hate Him. You love Him by accepting His Son's sacrifice, keeping His commandments (John 14:15 KJV, Exodus 20:1–17 KJV), and standing for what’s right in a world that is mostly against it.
If you have Jesus, you have the Father.
If you deny Jesus/Yeshua/Yahoshua, you do not have Father-God (1 John 2:23), Jehovah, Yahweh, Ahayah Asher Ahayah, Adonai, Elohim, Yah, or whatever name you choose to call Him. It’s as simple as that (1 John 5:12).
Jesus did explain that people’s “houses” would divide over Him and His Father. He explained that family members would turn against family members (Luke 12:51-54 NLT), and the general population would hate His followers (1 John 3:13-14 NIV). Furthermore, He explained that living the Christian life would not be easy, but the reward would be far greater than anything we could ever imagine (Revelation 2:10, James 1:12).
Which team are you on?
Are you sure? Just because you stand with many people doesn’t mean that Christ is the coach. Just because you appear to stand alone doesn’t mean that you’re on the wrong team. It may be time to do a soul check. Ask yourself what it is that you truly support, and what or who is most important to you in your world. Your answer will tell you where you stand (Exodus 20:3 KJV, Deuteronomy 5:7 KJV, Mark 12:29-30).
