Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Society says, “There’s no Jesus, and even if there is, it’s wrong for you to ‘force’ your ‘beliefs’ on them!”
Society’s new way of rejecting God is to try to prevent our children from learning about Him. Some parts of society attempt to restrict our rights to teach our children about Christ and the Bible by telling us that the children are “too young” to learn about the Bible and “too young” to make a decision about Jesus before the ripe age of (?). They say that the Bible is violent and that teaching children about hell is “abusive.”
Meanwhile...
Our children are playing video games that promote profanity, gambling, s_x, drugs, and random violence that has nothing to do with holy wars. They watch television shows and listen to songs that promote activities that are blatantly against our God’s wishes. They learn to look down on the poor and treat people differently according to certain attributes such as skin color.
Our children grow up thinking that compassion is a defect, weeping is an illness, and love is a dirty word. They receive praise for telling lies and rewards for their levels of materialism and greed. Schools teach them that they evolved from monkeys. They learn to shun Jesus and believe in false gods who supposedly sneak into the chimneys and save the day. Good Lord.
Our youth are learning to believe in anything and everything but God, which is sad because they don’t stand a chance without Him.
Apparently, Seven Year Olds Can Rule
A little boy named Joash from the tribe of Judah ruled Israel for 40 long years (2 Kings 11-12). He was seven years old when he took his crown. His evil grandmother tried to kill him so that he would not become king, but another family member hid him until he could have his crown.
If a seven-year-old boy was “old enough” to rule in God’s kingdom then, a seven-year-old boy is surely old enough to dedicate himself to God's service now. We're not wrong by teaching our children about the Bible or introducing them to Jesus. We’re doing exactly what God wants us to do. It’s the members of society who are trying to strangle the concept of God who are wrong in His eyes.
Don’t post any malarkey about “that was in the Old Testament” or “those were Jews.” You’re correct, and that does not change a single word in this piece.
