Dark clouds descending one and another
bringing rain down from the sky
Which lets me know the heats turned up
But Lord help me not to cry

From out of the east the winds did blow
thunder coming out of it's place
O' God of mercy are you still there ?
to give strength to help me to face

These troubles that come to test my faith
hiding the very sun from me
That cause one to say, Wow! What a storm
while I'm fighting hard to see

I seem to have been put in a boiling pot
being tried the whole way through
Many times poked, and stirred around
and wondering when my time is due

It's like everything is being tossed at me
dropped through, the muck and mire
I guess it's to see what I'm made of
so Lord send your word to inspire

Me through the many storms that rise
especially when the going gets hot
But I know God has a purpose and plan
why one's chosen to go in the pot

And when God sees that I'm well done
well prepared for the journey ahead
More seasoned than before, after the storm
and well rehersed with his daily bread
