The lawn was brown except for a beautiful weed here and there that flourishes without rain or tender care.  Rain was forecast and I knew it would make our grass come alive! My husband explained to me that rain contains nitrogen, the very element needy grass and plants require to flourish.  Also, as rain falls through the atmosphere, it picks up micronutrients that aid in plant growth and the green color. The phrase, “What a mighty God we serve” came to mind.  Such organization! Such detail in nature.  It makes me wonder what He has prepared someday for those who love Him.

You can tell a lot about a person when you see where they live.  Our home has filled book shelves everywhere, testifying to our love of reading.  Outdoor scenes on our walls say we love nature.  We are told about Heaven, God’s home, in 1 Cor. 2:9 (NKJV) :  “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” Family and friends who accepted God’s gift before death will be there.  No worrying, no anxiety, no disease, no dying, no browned out lawns, only peace and contentment.  Can you imagine why a person wouldn’t want to go there?

Unfortunately many believe they have to be good enough to make it to Heaven.  But our lives never get good enough because of our humanness. Christ did for us what we can’t do, be perfect. Our part is to accept His gift of grace. We will all spend eternity somewhere. I’m glad our family has chosen Christ. In the meantime, rain is falling and life is good.
