It’s A Heavenly Setup

Have you ever thought of God as radical? To me that is the best word to describe Him. And He has always been that way! The word ‘radical’ is defined as being far-reaching, complete, profound or sweeping.  That sounds like the God I know.

Creating a world in six days is radical! Destroying it in forty days is radical!  From the beginning of time God has turned things upside down!  He led His chosen people through a dry sea, He gave them laws they could not keep to prove their need for Him.  He sent us His son via a stable to prove His love. Then His son, Jesus, kept all the laws, and put them away forever.  From there God went totally radical and established only one way to Heaven through His son.  With our permission, Jesus becomes our spokesman and makes us acceptable to His Father. Matthew records Jesus’ words: “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.” (10:32-33 NIV)  Jesus teams up with us and that’s radical!

How can we become radical like God? For starters, by saying we believe in His son. I can assure you, some will call you radical. If you say you love God more than the world and its ‘stuff’ that borders on the R word.  If you need more than Sundays to sustain your relationship with this God of the universe, you are on your way!

Though God is crazy about us, He waits to be invited into our life. He’s done His part, radically!
