2. It has spines on it to protect itself from animals.

3. It grows on dry land.

Now, you may think how this connects to our spiritual life. Let us put ourselves in the place of the cactus and see how it connects.

1. The Cactus absorbs water and stores them for their survival during dry times - We must be absorbing the word of God into us and stand on the promises for our survival during tough times.

2. The Cactus protects itself from animals with the help of its spines - The word of the Lord is a "Two Edged Sword" which is defends us from our enemies and protects us.

3. The Cactus grows on dry ground no matter what - We must grow in the Lord and in His word. When we do that even during tough times we still survive. We grow and not become stagnant.

Friend, let the Lord and His word be your priority in life. Start everyday with Him and end everyday with Jesus. As I am writing this, I just had a song play in my mind."

Yes, everyday with Jesus makes us stronger, His loves carries us through and His word roots us on a strong foundation.

Dear Abba Father in Heaven,

Thank You for Your Word which sustains us always during our difficult times and nurtures us. Lord, we need Your guidance and protection in all areas of our lives. Take control Lord and shield us. In Jesus Christ name. Amen.
