“Faithing It” Until I Make It

There’s a popular saying: “Sometimes you have to fake it until you make it.” However faking means that you are being phony and neither true to yourself or the situation. As Christians we are called to believe and have faith in God. So rather than fake it until we make it, let’s choose to faith it until we make it.

I’ll admit that this is no easy task. Sometimes it appears as though God isn’t moving – at all - even when we are exercising our faith. But what if the reason God is not moving is because what we are believing Him for is too small? Romans 1:17 says: “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” Going from faith to faith requires that our faith actually grow. In order for our faith to fully grow, God places situations, obstacles, challenges or trials in our way to stretch our faith in new directions.

Some of us have yet to receive because in times past God didn’t do it, or He didn’t do it the way we thought He would, could or should have done it. As a result, we gave up. We stopped believing that God would do that thing or ANYTHING at all for that matter. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” If we were to be honest many of us have stopped seeking Him; we now find ourselves in what I will call “Peter-mode”; we have taken our eyes off God. While focused on our storm, our situation or our circumstance, we are slowly drowning.

So God now asks us the question: “Will you trust me? Will you let go of the past hurts? Will you take a step in ANY direction and trust that I will lead you, be with you and guide you along the entire way? Have not your steps been ordered by God?”

Moving from faith to faith is God’s way of growing you from the mustard seed to the mustard tree. So you cannot afford to allow circumstances of any kind to stunt your growth; because the seed that God has deposited within you is valuable and will ultimately bring God glory and someone else to their breakthrough, miracle or blessing.

Take a moment and think: What exactly do I want from God? Now ask yourself: Where’s the place that I felt God abandoned me? Where’s the place that my faith failed – the place that I took a seat on the sideline and stopped believing altogether. When did I become angry, bitter, depressed, anxious, full of doubt – when did I find myself outside of God’s will because I didn’t pray, I stopped going to church, I made excuses for not sharing my gift or participating in ministry?

Today I remind you that there is nothing that can separate you from the love of God. He’s been with you the whole time – waiting for you to call His name, waiting for you to believe that His word accomplishes all that He sets it out to do.
Your assignment has not changed. Your purpose remains. God forgives you – God restores you TODAY! He calls you to pick up your shield of faith and get back in the fight of life. And when it gets real tough and intense, don’t leave the battle. Stand firm like a tree, rooted and grounded in the one will never leave you nor forsake you. Stand still. Secure your shield of faith firmly in your hand. . Know that God’s on the battlefield and He’s got you covered. Every flaming arrow of the enemy shall be extinguished and you will see the salvation of the Lord. God will see you ALL the way through. He will take care of you. He knows what you have need of before you even ask. So there’s no need to fake anything. But today, we’re going to faith-it until we make it! Hallelujah. Glory to your name Father. We bless you on today. Hallelujah!

Let us pray:
Father, thank you that through faith we may approach you freely and with confidence. Father, thank you for waking us up this morning. Thank you for starting us on our way. Thank you for greeting us with the kiss of your love this morning. Thank you for the gift of grace by which we have been saved through faith. Thank you that our lives are in the palms of your mighty hands. We ask that you search us, O God. If there be anything that is not like you, remove it in the Name of Jesus. Cleanse us by your precious blood and breathe into us the breath of life – make us new once again.

God you said in your word that you have given each of us a measure of faith. You remind us that our faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in your power. For it is in you that we live, we move and have our very being. You word says: “According to your faith, be it unto you.” We admit that our faith has been small. Increase our faith today God.
Forgive us for walking in doubt, fear and worry. You did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. You told us to wait on the Lord and be of good courage and you would strengthen our heart. Grant us the courage to speak to the mountains in our lives and boldly say: “Be thou removed and cast into the sea”. When the storms in our lives come quickly and rage too long, remind us that the testing of our faith produces perseverance. And that perseverance must finish its work so that we may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Father for some of us, the vision has tarried and the wait has been long and sometimes hard. God some of us have lost sight of the vision or our God-given assignment. Help us to resume our faith-walk and keep pressing towards the mark for the prize of the high calling through Jesus Christ. In moments when we are tempted to abandon the mission, to step out of race and give up the fight, speak to our hearts, our minds and our spirits.

Cause the word you have hidden in our hearts to encourage us to stand firm in the faith; be courageous and be strong. Strengthen us with your power in our innermost being so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. Remind us daily, that we walk by faith and not by sight. Thank you for the peace you give us in the midst of the storm. Let your peace guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
We thank you that you have a plan for our lives that will prosper us and not harm us. Thank you for enlarging our territory. Thank you that your hand is upon us and that NO weapon formed against us shall ever prosper. Thank you that every tongue that rises up against us shall be put to shame. The vision – the plan – the purpose that you have for us is exceedingly, abundantly above all that we could ever ask, think or imagine.

In this season of waiting, let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. For you are a God who is faithful to keep your promises. Though the vision may tarry, you said Wait for it, for it will surely come and when it comes, it will not disappoint.

You said to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer. God you said that the prayers offered in faith will make the sick person well. You said you would raise them up. Father when our bodies are attacked with sickness and disease, remind us that by your stripes we are healed and that like the woman with the issue of blood, our faith will make us whole.

When our money is funny and our change is strange, remind us that if we do not rob you in tithe and offering that you will open up the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing that we don’t have room to receive.

God as we take a leap of faith and step out of our boats into deep waters, help us to focus our eyes on you and on the assignment and vision you have for us. When the winds of stress, depression, anxiety, doubt, worry and fear begin to blow and cause us sleepless nights and a frantic racing mind, remind us that YOU are our peace. Give strength unto your people, O God and bless your people with peace.

Today we declare that We stand firm in faith. We resist the enemy. We commit our works, our plans, and our desires unto you. We will add goodness to our faith and to goodness we will add knowledge. We will wear our garment of praise. We are your faithful followers. We bless your name. We worship you. We adore you. We magnify you. We lift your name on high. You are worthy. You are our peace. You are our provider. You are the Holy One. You are our rock, our source and our shield…Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

We thank you. We count it done! In Jesus Name, Amen!!!
