Stewardship
Money like blood is important and money is a subject too often ignored among Christians. Many pastors and religious people think money is not a very spiritual matter for study so they ignore it but in this they do err.
To say money is not spiritual is like saying blood is not spiritual but think about this without blood your spirit would not remain inside your body which is a material substance. So while money is a physical substance it helps to keep your spirit activating your body which is called a temple. "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." 1 Cor. 6:9-10
We should therefore see a vital connection between money and the realm of the spirit. In this case we are concerned about the spiritual as it pertains to godliness not immaterial reality per se.

Since blood is vital to your health then what better way to keep people sick than to keep them ignorant about blood? So it is with money.
If you can keep people ignorant about money, that is, how to earn it, how to value it, save it, spend it and invest it you can destroy a person, family or nation.
Today we see this happening more and more as people in general and especially God's people are becoming poorer along with most families and nations throughout the world.
God is the source of our blood for He created us in His image with a body and spirit. "And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation." Acts 17:26

The Bible also teaches us that God is also the source of wealth including money. "But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth..." (Deut. 8:18a).
Our Creator made humans a living soul with both body and spirit. Both are equally important. Both were created good and both fell as a result of sin.
The body will someday be resurrected just like the soul is resurrected at regeneration. For the godly in Jesus Christ, the body is sacred just like the soul and both must be given to wise stewardship. I would argue the same holds true for money. while money is not as important as the true riches of grace and salvation found in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ yet if you are not faithful in the unrighteous mammon who will commit to your trust the true riches?" Luke 16:11
Too often we suffer the deleterious consequences of not valuing money. For example, we spend it foolishly on things that we soon devalue, neglect and trash but imagine what would happen if we did this with our blood. If we neglected our body and let an open wound go unattended we could bleed to death or pass out from shock.

Money therefore, like blood, is important. Both must circulate properly and sufficiently to insure good health.
For an economy to be healthy money must be saved and spent. Too much money may be dangerous to any people because there's the tendency to grow proud and self-confident but too little money and you may be tempted to steal from your neighbor. To avoid both evils the writer in Proverbs said: "Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain." Proverbs 30:8,9
In hematology, (the study of blood) there's a condition known as polycythemia or PV which means there are too many red blood cells. It is a disease and blood disorder which causes blood to thicken and slow causing clots, possible stroke and death. In other words your body actually has too much blood which can be fatal. On the other hand too little blood is called anemia which results from an iron deficient diet. This can also be fatal.

Balance as in most things is fundamental.
Jesus spoke a great deal about money and the Bible in the Old and New Testament teaches us many principles or truths about money and wealth and how to manage it.

It is interesting that in the public schools, where I gained some miniscule amount of academic knolwedge, there is seldom any discussion or formalized education about how to make money or manage income, savings, investments etc. Perhaps public schools don't think money is too important for youth seeing most are not old enough to work. In most states you have to be 16. However, wisdom teaches us that laying a good foundation for the future begins early.
In the interest of socialism public schools or state run schools don't teach children much about money and it's importance. If the state is your care keeper or guardian as Karl Marx taught then why would anybody need to concern himself with money since capitalism is considered an evil to be abolished.
It wasn't until life after high school that I learned to value money and view it much like I viewed blood in the body. Too much money and you'll likely grow proud and careless but not enough of it and you'll die.
The same holds true for the economy on a national, state or local level.
The economy needs money circulating properly and sufficiently for it to be healthy. Not enough and the economy stagnates and deflates. Too much and the economy over heats by inflation and prices skyrocket into hyper-inflation.
Next time you think of spending your hard earned money think about it like your own blood. How will you replace it if you were to lose it?
Money and blood. There is a vital connection.
