Hope and Quietly Wait
Lam 3:22-26
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

Hallelujah!!!
The journey to the throne of our lives is not on a bed of roses but we might go through thorns and thistles that might poke us, to challenge us to give up or derail our straight race marked out for us.
We are therefore admonished by Apostle Peter to prepare ourself for action and strive to the end in hope.
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 1 Pet 1:13
The word hope is described as...
- The belief or expectation that something wished for can happen or will happen.
- The actual thing wished for.
- A person or thing that is a source of hope.
- The virtuous desire for future good.
Furthermore hope is...
- To want something to happen, with a sense of expectation that it might.
- To be optimistic; be full of hope; have hopes.
- To place confidence;
- To trust with confident expectation of good.
What is that hope?
Looking for the blessed hope, the appearing of our Lord and Saviour Jesus who is preparing a place for us that where He is we will be there also with Him in glory where your name is written.
....rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Lk 10:20
It is to hope that the expected end of your wants and needs is in preparation to mature according to God"s time which is always the best not yours.
Hoping is for tomorrow for our needs and we need not fret or worry about them but to hope ...yachiyl..hb or ...yachal..hb, and ...elpis..gk or ...elpizo..gk, both meaning ...to expect, ...confide, ...trust, ...tarry, ...confidence, ...faith, that He is faithful to His Word of promise.
Hope is one of the virtues that will last or abide when all else is gone. Build it.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 1 Cor 13:13
Has God promised anythng and will not bring it to pass?
The hope in you is in the Word of God, the more we abide in the Word the more we have hopes and to delight in it day and night whilst waiting for its manifestation.
Wait or waiting is described as ...
- The act of staying or remaining in expectation.
- Attendance, service.
- Watching
Furthermore, it is also ...
- To delay movement or action until the arrival or occurrence of;
- To await.
- To delay movement or action until some event or time;
- To remain in readiness.
The hope in you will help you to press on to tomorrow and quietly wait ...duwmam..hb, meaning ...still, ...silent, ...tarry, in readiness for the glory yet to appear in your situations.
We have need to Quietly Wait for our salvation, which includes all that we need, in complete tranquillity, that is to be in ...
- the state of being tranquil
- the absence of disturbance; peacefulness
- the absence of stress; serenity
- the quality of calmness
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Jn 16:33
Jesus says in this world you will have tribulations. This is a sovereign declaration because the accuser of the brethren is with us on earth. He was cast down with his cohorts of angels (demons) after their rebellion and they will come uninvited to tempt or trouble you.
But have good cheer Jesus overcame for us and made us conquerors. In the midst of all the storm, be still, hope and quietly wait for your salvation. In other words slow down or calm down or do not be stressed out.
Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah. Ps 77:9
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Lk 18:7-8
You may be in the night of your life but remember God's compassions fail not, Joy comes in the morning and they are new every morning. Hope and quietly wait for your time of divine visitation for great is God's faithfulness.
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee. Pro 20:22
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Ps 37:7
Beloved your duty is to commit your moderations to the Lord Jesus for your substance you hope for and quietly wait on Him to deliver the results to you. Jesus says ...
Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you. 2 Chro 20:17
We need to work out our salvation in the absence of stress and in an atmosphere of serenity in our heart. The quality of calmness as you wait for your salvation will help you to distinguish between God's rich supply of life and peace from Satan's bait to draw you into bondage and Sin.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Gal 6:9
Be still when your storm arises and command calmness to be restored in Jesus name. Be improved in your faith and exercise your authority and power over the storm.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Jas 5:7
Beloved, It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
Be blessed!!!
