Are you any less human than your father? 

No, of course not.

So if you are no less human than your father, why would you think that the only begotten son of God would be any less God than God the Father?

For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, Rom 8:3

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV

Remember to ask those questions the next time anyone tells you that Jesus is just a man and not God.

Monogenē is the Greek word defined as - only, only-begotten; unique. We translate it as begotten. According to Strong’s, it comes from a combination of two Greek words - 3411 /misthōtós, "one-and-only" and 1085/génos, "offspring, stock". Properly defined as one-and-only; "one of a kind" – literally, "one (monos) of a class, genos" (the only of its kind).

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. But of the Son he (God the Father) says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.” Heb 1:8-9 ESV
