Creatures of Habit – Cynthia PeoplesWe are all creatures of habit whether we like to admit it or not! I for one, am notorious for making list after list and planning ahead for each and every day. I'll jot down errands, chores, shopping list, etc...on and on, day by day. If I don't get to it the current day, I carry the dreaded task over to the next day and add it to the next list. Some days I get worn out just reading what I've listed!
God tells us plainly in His word: You can make plans, but the LORD'S purpose will prevail. (Proverbs 19:21 NLT) In Matthew 6: 34 He says:“So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.” (NLT)
What profound truth! We, as human beings, live in a world that is just our temporary home. Each day is filled with choices, decisions and task to be completed, while facing trials and temptations that are NOT planned.
When I contemplate on the above verses, I'm reminded to let God have my day and thank Him for it. He's in total control even when my plans get changed or put on the back burner. And when I allow this truth to permeate my entire being...whew...what a relief! And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4: 7 KJV)
Thank you Lord, that you are in total control and your purpose will always prevail!
