A Goodly Heritage

Ps 16:5-6
The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
......................................................................................................................................

Praise the Lord dearly beloved,
The psalmist declares I have a goodly heritage, not just a heritage but qualifies it as goodly that is it was excellent and pleasing in its appearance.

A heritage is described as...
- An inheritance; property that may be inherited.
- A tradition; something that can be passed down from preceding generations.
- A birthright; the status acquired by birth, especially of but not exclusive to the firstborn.

Every heritage ...nachalah..hb, meaning ...something inherited, ...heritage, ...to inherit, ...inheritance, ...possession, is made to an heir and the bible says we are the heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ Jesus.

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Rom 8:17

An heir is described as ...
- Someone who inherits, or is designated to inherit, the property of another.
- One who inherits, or has been designated to inherit, a hereditary title or office.
- A successor in a role, representing continuity with the predecessor.

By the death of Jesus for us, He made an inheritance for us and when we accept He died in our place, we are placed in the position as an heir to the inheritance.

An inheritance is described as ...
- The passing of title to an estate upon death.
- That which a person is entitled to inherit, by law or testament.
- The hereditary passing of biological attributes from ancestors to their offspring.

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. Heb 9:15-17

Beloved a testament is of full force upon the death of the testator. For His love for us God delivered up Jesus that by Him we might have access to a goodly heritage.

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, Eph 1:18

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Jn 3:16-17

Have you received your access/ visa to this goodly heritage?

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Jn 1:12

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. Rom 4:25

The sons and daughters of Jesus only have visa to the testament of the goodly heritage. The testator has made sure in giving out your inheritance, the lines or the borders of it fall in every pleasant place.

As you have made Jesus your Lord and savior, He is your inheritance and He will make sure to maintain the lot or portion allotted to you. You are the light of the world because Jesus the light is your inheritance.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Jn 8:12

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: Eph 5:8

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Mt 5:14

It is your goodly inheritance so that everything about your life falls in pleasant places but you need to go in and take possession with a fight, a good fight of faith. The devil will subtly want to talk and take you out of your inheritance with troubles. Jesus said ...

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Jn 16:33

All things are yours in Christ Jesus, but our light affliction works for us an eternal and enduring inheritance.

Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s. 1 Cor 3:21-23

Do no loose sight of your goodly heritage of your finances, marriage, career, they are falling in their pleasant places because of Christ.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Cor 4:17-18

Beloved trace down your family line and see how goodly it is or it has been because a heritage is ....
- A tradition; something that can be passed down from preceding generations.
- A birthright; the status acquired by birth, especially of but not exclusive to the firstborn.

The sins and curses and covenants and demonic altars whether of the ancestry or what you dabble in it yourself, are passed down even to the third and fourth generations by familiar spirits. These are heritages with long legs and tails afflicting even generations yet unborn. The Lord said ...

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Ex 20:3-6

For this cause Jesus came preaching the good news in order for us to reverse and revoke the curse of darkness and translate us to the blessing of a goodly heritage in Him.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Lk 4:18

Rise up beloved and see that your foundations to a goodly heritages are cleansed and preserved from every evil deposits and growths and plantations. Refuse to eat sour grapes and set the teeth of the children on edge and be cleansed with the blood of Jesus Christ.

In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.
But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge. Jer 31:29-30

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 Jn 1:8-9

It is my prayer that let everything that concerns you fall in their right places as you let your moderations known to God with thanksgiving because your goodly heritage is guaranteed.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Rev 3:21

Be blessed!!!
