DAY EIGHT

MESSAGES TO THE CHURCHES

Part Three

John to the seven churches which are In Asia: grace be unto you" and peace, from Him which Is, and which was, and which Is to come: And from the seven spirits which are before His throne: And from Jesus Christ who Is \he faithful witness, and the first- begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the Kings of the Earth. Unto Hm that loved us, and washed us from our sins In His own blood and has made us kings and priests unto God and His father: to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever amen (Revelation 1 :4-6)

The first part of our verse is in the form of a salutation or greeting but in

the second part we see the word " from Jesus". This word from Jesus describes why He has the right to be the main subject of, this book.

 First, He is described as the faithful witness. Faithfulness describes several things.

 It describes his superiority over all things. He was chosen by the father and sent to accomplish His purpose. To that He was faithful.

 He is a faithful witness because He demonstrates by his life what God Is like. He is a faithful witness because. He keeps his promise" I go to prepare, and I will come again and receive you (John 14:2,3)

 He is faithful In the message He delivers from the father. Jesus has spoken the word of truth and besides this, He is the embodiment of truth.

Finally, He is the Prince of the Kings of the Earth. This describes His ultimate victory and rule,

There is a marvelous development in this verse which needs further explanation.

First, we see the address from the Father, second we see the description of the son and finally, we see the blessing to his followers. What

an introduction used to describe His corning in verse seven.
