The Bible tells us that Jesus learned obedience by the things that he suffered. (Hebrews 5,  verse 8 of the New Testament)    Does that mean, some may ask, that he was disobedient until he learned better?  No, it doesn't, because his sinless life made his sacrificial death on the cross effective or efficacious  to atone for our sin.  What it does mean, at least in part, is that Jesus learned deepening levels of obedience through those sufferings.  His obedience reached progressively into the deepest recesses of his heart and mind before and by the time he was offered on the cross and breathed his last that side of the resurrection.  He obeyed beyond the letter into the spirit of the law, and he learned in the fullness of his humanity on a kind of learning curve, somewhat as any human being would have to learn.
