Is it of hammer hitting nails
Nails piercing flesh
As the crowd roars,
"Crucify, he deserves death"

Or is it a gasping breath
Praying on our behalf,
"Father, forgive them;
Spare them from Your wrath"

Or is it Christ Jesus
Whose authority was undiminished
Surrendering His life,
Declaring, "It. Is. Finished"

The sky black like a sealed tomb
Then silence for three days
Until, "He is risen! Christ is risen!
Hallelujah! God be praised"

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind but now I see

And hear the sweetest sound,
My Saviour's blessed voice:
Peace be with you, child;
I have overcome! Rejoice!
