When I see the morning sun light rise so clear
When I see the evening star light vividly appear
I say Lord I believe
When I see the rolling hills bloom in the spring time
When I see the valley flowers freely give a glad sign
I say Lord I believe
When I see the mighty waves roar side by side
When I see the calming waters of the evening tide
I say Lord I believe
When I see the rainbow clearly shinning in the sky
When I see the promise given in the days gone by
I say Lord I believe
When I see the gleam in that new born babies eye
When I see the elder tearfully give that last good by
I say Lord I believe
When I see my Lord hanging on Calvary's tree
When I see the dreadful pain He suffered for me
I say Lord I believe
When I see the angel come to roll the stone away
When I see my Lord rise from the grave that day
I say Lord I believe
When I see my Lord taking His heavenly flight
When I see my Lord quickly travel out of sight
I say Lord I believe
When I see my sins I come quickly to make my plea
When I see my sins I quickly fall on my bended knee
I say Lord I believe
When I see the power of His precious everlasting love
When I see His glory shining down to all from up above
I say Lord I believe
"Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed".(John 20:29)
In the scripture, Thomas is known as "doubting Thomas". You see , this scripture gives a vivid account of the apostle Thomas's doubt (John 20:25-29). Thomas would not believe that Jesus had risen from the dead until he actually touched the risen Christ.
In today's vernacular, some seem to follow Thomas's direction, of not believing unless seeing the risen Lord. However, as our Lord declared to Thomas, we are surely blessed when we believe the gospel, strictly by our faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). When we believe in the full gospel (1 Cor 15:1-4).
Thanks be to the Lord, Thomas finally recognized the full deity of Jesus Christ (John 20:28). And Thomas was able to fully understood his Lords power, which was His holiness (John 8:46), His omnipotence and omnipresence (Matt28:20), and His omniscience (John 11:11-14). You see, by his Lord's guide , Thomas actually saw his Lord's authority of being able to forgive sins (Mark 2:5-7), raise the dead (John 5:28-30) (John 11:43), and judge all men (John 5:22-27).
What about you. beloved ? Do you believe ?
