YOU NEVER STOPPED LOVING ME, LORD

You never once stopped loving me, Lord
In my childhood days, when cool was the craze
You never once stopped loving me, Lord
As I grew forgetting the past, looking ahead at last
You never once stopped loving me, Lord
Now that I'm old and gray, making my own way
You never once stopped loving me, Lord
When I came on bended knee, just to make my plea
You never once stopped loving me, Lord
Your love now I do see, Hallelujah I am set free
You never once stopped loving me, Lord
When I finally see the light, and take my flight
You never once stopped loving me, Lord

You never once stopped loving us, Lord
Way back on Calvary, He died for you and me
You never once stopped loving us, Lord
On the cross taking our place, giving us free grace
You never once stopped loving us, Lord
Yes His love is real, and He loves us still
You never once stopped loving us, Lord
Please do not delay, won't you take Him today
You never once stopped loving us, Lord
Our names are written in stone, always to be His own
You never once stopped loving us, Lord
Forever to be in glory land, we will join heavens band
You never once stopped loving us, Lord

My cherished grandson once ask me, "papaw, do you remember the VW bugs. Just how many kids packed in that car to break the record "? Yes, those were surely the "good ole days". Now that I am retired, I often wake up wondering what day it is. But one thing I will always remember, regardless of my circumstances and failures, my heavenly Father never stopped loving me (Romans 8:37-39).

The good news is that God loves me on my good days as much as He loves me on my bad days. You see, He loved me so much, that he sent His Son, Jesus Christ the God Man, to redeem me from my inbred sin (John 3:16-17). And He would have done the same, if I had been the only one in need of a Savior. The Bible doesn't say God has love, it says God is Love(Psalm 86:8-10).

Yes, in spite of all the times I have let Him down in my life, God never once stopped loving me. He was always there to take me back (1 John 1:9). For He made me in His own image (Genesis 1:27), so that I may glorify Him forever (Psalm 96:1-9). Thus, this poem tribute to His everlasting love.
