February Maintain Your Identity
BE CONSISTENT IN YOUR FAITH IN GOD
And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them , I pray you. Genesis 40:8
The opening verse reveals a lot about the man Joseph even during the worse period of his life. After he had obeyed the commandments of God and fled fornication, he was thrown into prison but from the scripture above, it is obvious that didn’t affect his faith in the power of God. When Joseph was in prison, he acknowledged before his fellow inmates that he believed in the Hebrew God and when he met the highest man of the land, he maintained this same identity (Genesis 41:16). How readily do we take advantage of circumstances and opportunities life presents us today to profess our unique identity? The world presents to us every second opportunities to profess our identity as seen in what Christ did for us on the cross. Do we present this truth in the lowest places in the dungeons and are we ready to hold on to this identity in the palaces of Kings. The difficulty many of us face in this life is that, whenever we find ourselves in ‘prison’ or in a difficult position, we tend to hold on firm to God but whenever we are promoted to the seat of power, we tend to forget about the goodness and the sustenance of God. Let us learn to sing the praises of God in all circumstances. You are the praise of God.

Prayer:
Father Lord, strengthen me by your Spirit that I may remain faithful during challenging times and also proclaim your might and majesty when you elevate me as you did to Joseph in Jesus Name Amen.
