One day I decided
I had lived a lot for others
In the eagerness to serve and care
I had forgotten to live for myself.

A voice inside me seconded my thoughts
The spirit speaking to me from within
The Lord had created so much for me to enjoy
He wanted me to set aside time to live for myself

Though in doing so much for others
I had in a way lived a part for myself
Still I had to fully live for myself
And this could only do alone with the inner me.

I set ahead to select fine moments
Where I could breathe life to the full
The things that made me happy
The things I could share only with myself.

Heading towards desired locales
Following the route where the heart leads
Closing my eyes in solitude at times
Music to soothe and balm the senses.

Raising my gaze to the Great Lord above
A silent moment discerning his will for me
Spending time with childhood friends
Laughing and giggling together anew.

The vault of time opening once again
With a cherished memory key
Memories which were mine and mine alone
Reliving with all my heart and soul.

Happy moments giving and receiving love
Greetings in reciprocation making my life
Wishful dreams and secret longings
Glad to have finally lived for myself.

I was now at peace finally
My life not wasted entirely
Knowing fully well in the end
Will have to travel alone to my home above.

When I stand in front of the Creator
To give an account of my life
Can sincerely confess
I lived for him; For loved ones alike
But most of all, I his priceless creation had also lived for myself.
