If I had known
That Time had hidden in itself
Wondrous and too good moments
I would have held on to time a little longer.

If I had known
That the Road on which I was walking
Would lead to the goal in my heart
I would have treaded on it a little longer.

If I had known
That the Threshold I was arriving to
Held the most beautiful moment of my life
I would have stood on it a little longer.

If I had known
That the Staircase reaching down to me
Had a joy written on every step
I would have climbed this stairway a little longer.

If I had known
That every Season was displaying
A lovely turn in the foilage of life
I would have saluted each season a little longer.

If I had known
That Words had the ultimate power
To lay a complete seige to my heart
I would have held on to such words a little longer.

If I had known
That my Eyes could decipher
A more profound view in the window of the soul
I would have gazed and looked a little longer.

If I had known
That my Prayers were being answered
One by one in God's unique style
I would have knelt down and prayed a little longer.

If I had known
That Love had so much to offer me
That my heart was overflowing to the brim
I would have loved and loved a little longer.

If I had known
That Life had a new beauty
To unravel every single new day
I would ask God to let me live a little longer.
