I have known what it is to go hungry,
And as a child without even a dime,
I wore clothes with patches and sticthes,
Hand me downs were all that were mine.

We were taught from our youth about Jesus,
Momma said just to trust Him, don't whine,
Just pray and beleive and He'll answer,
He won't let you down, not one time.

I have known what it is to bury my child,
And that sorrow I could not confine,
Then he flooded my heart with His comfort,
He has let me down, no not one time.

I've seen conflicts and sorrows too many to tell,
I have struggled and fought since my prime,
But like Momma said I still trust Him,
He's let me down, no not one time.
