HELL IS FOR REAL

"And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire". (Revelation 20:15)

Has anybody ever told you," You look like hell". "Go to hell". I've had a hell of a day", etc. Well, they just don't know what they are talking about, for hell is for real. And Jesus talked more about hell, than He did heaven.

Some Biblical terms for hell.

1. Sheol- Occurs in the O.T. over 60 times. (Job 7:9; 11:8; 14:13; 17:13)

(Psalm 16:10; 49:13-14; 88:3,5) (Proverbs 21:16) ( Ecclesiastes 9:10)

2. Hades- One of the Greek terms translated hell in the N.T. (1 Peter 3:9) (Mt 16:18) (Revelation 1:18) (Luke 10:15, 16:23)

3- Gehenna- A Greek term designating the place of the lost.(Mt 23:33;  5:22,29, 25:41)

4- Tartarus- A Greek term used to refer to the lower regions or pits of hell. (2 Peter 2:4)

Oh, I've heard it before, " I don't believe  in a hell". Does that make it any less real ? Is any mortal human being capable of redirecting God's eternal  plan or will, for mankind ? Defiantly not !

God is the only supreme authority, control, and power over all that has happened, is happening, and will happen in the future in all times across all history. Nothing else, nor nobody else, can change that, including ones philosophy of hell. (Psalm 115:3)

So, the next time someone directs  one of the many slang terms for hell towards your character, just be ready to take control of the situation by  witnessing  for Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:15) (2 Cor 5:20).

As followers of Christ (Philippians 1:21), our responsibility with God's enabling, is to consistently apply truths from the Word of God ( 1 Timothy 4:7-9); James 1:22-27). As we consider this brief summary, lets pray that the Holy Spirit might bring about the change necessary in our lives to bring glory to God and further the gospel (1 Cor 15:1-4).

In conclusion,  hell is real, and so is heaven. As Christians, it is our duty to direct mankind in the right spiritual direction (Ecclesiastes 3:4). Remember to be gentle and respectful as you witness. This could happen in the grocery store, at the park or during a mission trip. Sometimes God reveals an upcoming opportunity to you such as a Bible study and other times it may seem sudden and unexpected. Honor each opportunity as a moment created and planned by Christ (2 Cor 5:20).

There is no logical or rational reason to question the authority and sovereignty of God, just because we don’t understand what is happening or what did happen.(Romans 9:21)?  God is God, and regardless if we do or don't understand will not change His eternal sovereign will. Simply put, not believing in God is a "copout".

 When one dies, it's too late to believe (Hebrews 9:27). Our heavenly Father, stands waiting and willing to accept you into His heavenly kingdom. It has nothing to do with your graciousness, the money you may give to the church, or your God fearing friends or family. It's you, and you alone. Simple take God's free grace, by your faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Amen !
