When we read through the scriptures we understand something about God’s ways. One thing we understand is that God created the day and nights seasons. Most times in our lives we have moments of “nights” and “mornings”. Jesus commanded that we work while it is day, because the night comes when no man can work (John 9:4 paraphrased).

In Genesis 41, God gave pharaoh a dream, and He said there will be seven years of plenty and seven years of famine in the land of Egypt. In our lives too, there may be times of famine and times of plenty in certain areas. What we do in the time of plenty is very important as it will determine how the time of famine will look like. Do we like Pharaoh and Joseph save and earn credits for the times of famine or do we just waste resources in the time of plenty and lose hope in times of famine?

One might want to say “oh I will never lack, I will always have enough” but this is not only related to material things or just money, as a youth you have plenty of time and energy, how do you spend these? Sometime we have plenty of opportunities to reach out, preach the gospel, save some money, give to the work of God, do we spend these resources appropriately, do we sow good seeds so we can reap later, are we investing in prayers, are we doing the work of him that sent us while it is day?
