   It is good to review the "negotiations" regarding Job, the one with whom God was so pleased,  in the first chapter of that book and be reminded in verse 12 that it was God after all who was dictating to the devil.  God remained in the driver's seat throughout, so to speak,  and had the final say on what form the onslaught upon righteous Job would take.  Satan had been insinuating that Job was a "fair weather friend" only serving God because of his good circumstances and many blessings.   'Yahweh said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." ' (NIV version) God was simply using the devil's scheme to boomerang back upon him and bring ultimate good and thus frustrate his evil intentions once again.
