“Charge Your Battery”

Scripture: Nehemiah 9:6

It is easier now than ever to connect with others by cell phone, text, email or social media. Every where you look electronic devices are being plugged in and charged up so we can stay connected. Yet constant and ongoing use of these devices drains the battery life causing it to eventually lose power and shut down. Just like our devices, as Christians if we are not careful and mindful of our busy schedules and long lists of things to do, we too will lose energy and begin to shut down. Let’s try to unplug ourselves and our devices from the world’s energy sources at least 20 minutes a day. Go to a quiet place. Stand or sit still. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Quiet your mind, body and spirit. Connect to the Omnipotent– all powerful; Omniscient – all knowing; Omnipresent – everywhere, God! What He has to download, deposit and drop into us is greater than anything the world has to offer. Stay plugged into God! His battery never dies!

Prayer

Almighty God, forgive us for conforming to the world’s standards. We take time today to connect with you. We celebrate your majesty, your awesome power and your amazing splendor. We worship you for who you are – you are holy and worthy of my praise. Help us to set aside time daily to connect with you, In Jesus Name we pray, Amen!
