“Taking Inventory”

Scripture: Lamentations 3:40

Like a stock person who takes inventory of what is on the shelves at a grocery store, you should take stock of your spiritual pantry as a Christian. What staples – prayer, Bible study, tithing, fellowship – need to be replenished? What items – gossip, worry, negative people/thoughts – have expired and need to be thrown away? What treats – gifts, talents, abilities – have been hiding or tucked away on the back shelves that need to be brought to the forefront and enjoyed or shared with others? As you go throughout this week, take inventory of where you are in your relationship with Christ. Determine what needs to be added, removed, and used so that you can grow for God’s glory and fulfill His will and purpose for your life?

Prayer

Father we ask that you would come into our hearts and be our Lord and Savior. Forgive us for anything that we may have done in thought, word or action to displease you. As we go throughout our days, we pray that You will help us to create a space to spend more time with You. Help us along our journey to evaluate the places where we need to add things that will enrich our walk with you, to remove things that hinder our growth in You and to use everything that You have already deposited within us to fulfill your perfect will for our lives. We ask these things in Jesus Name, Amen.
