The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. (Psalm 103:8)

Slow to anger is something our culture doesn't seem to quite grasp in these days of violence in the world of Non-Christians and Christians. How fast are we to get angry when someone jumps in front of us at the grocery store or cuts us off on the freeway?
Especially during the holiday season anger stews within mass amounts of people. Anger towards not having enough, anger towards other loved ones stemming from unforgiveness, and even anger towards God from many who have lost loved ones and can't see the Why behind Gods plans.

In this season of the year, I find that with my Spirit eyes, I see beyond the surface of everyone's smiles and the Lord has shown me the anger simmering within a lot of His children.
Anger was a big part of my life as well, I was hot tempered, my tongue was a sword of vicious and hateful words, as well as a pool for gossip to flow out of.
As I sat in the secret place I would ask the Holy Spirit to reveal hidden doors within my soul that were the causes of these deep rooted anger issues. Every single one of them stemmed from a hurt or a terrible, painful encounter I went through as I was growing up and even grown.
After these revelations, I would cry and ask Him to come and heal those wounds. However when I asked this He would comfort me and then no sooner would I get put into a situation that required me to display patience and kindness instead of anger and frustration.

I discovered that as we went through this process of inner healing God had a plan to teach me how to be slow to anger and to see the world from His eyes.
This was the case every time I went shopping.
It would never fail as I finished my shopping I would come up to a line that looked short, but every time I would end up being in THE LINE.
At first through this process I felt frustration and zero patience, and one day I felt the Holy Spirit whisper “stop, slow down and take a look at what's in front of you”.
So I did, and I received a word that the cashier needed prayer, this was new for me and I was rather nervous. With the Father’s love coming over me for her, I relayed the message I felt the Lord put on my heart. And as tears flooded down her face, she described the trial she was going through, and we prayed.

However, this wasn't about me, this was about God looking after His daughter that needed a word of encouragement. Through this, I had a revelation that I am a vessel that He can use if I choose to take my eyes off of myself and allow Him to let me see from Heaven's point of view.
The more these occurrences happened the more patience I gained and the more excited I became because I knew these were divine appointments by the Creator Himself.

Right now during this season the world is groaning, the enemy is working overtime to bring guilt, fear, condemnation to everyone he possibly to can to steal the joy in the hearts of God's children.

The Lord is longing for us to manifest the Fruits of His Spirit that are inside of us, and be His tools for hope, peacemaking and restoration, not only to the body of Christ but to those that haven't had an encounter with their saviour.
The darkness is falling all around and if we take our eyes off of ourselves and our needs and place them on Jesus and what the Father needs, we will start transforming into the Bride, Christ longs for us to be.

This holiday season the Holy Spirit is asking us to be slow to anger, abounding in love, compassionate and gracious, to love the ONE He puts in front of us daily, whether it is in the store, at church or even at home.
This is the time of year we celebrate the birth of our King, let's display His glory for all to see within us as we go throughout our day. We never know who is watching, after all we could be saving a life or entertaining an angel, shine Beloved shine.
