ARISE & SHINE (Isaiah 60:1 & 2)

“Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.  For behold the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.”

Dear friend, hear the voice of the Lord in the midst of the noise around us.  The enemy seeks to release his darkness where he can, but it is not a time for us to give in to fear.  It is not a time to be silenced or inactive, or to run away and hide.  This is our hour to arise and shed some heavenly light.  It is the time to bear witness of the Omnipotent One we love and live for, the Name above all names and the Light of the world.  He is El Shaddai, Jesus Christ, the eternal One, who always was and always will be.  

It is true that there is darkness over many people in many places, but it is also true that the Lord is releasing His power and glory like never before.  It may seem like the darkness has never been as bad, but the light of God has also never been revealed as brightly or as much as we see it now.  His light is too glorious and mighty to be constrained or snuffed out and more people come into it each day all over the world! 

Today as the Holy Spirit says “Arise and shine”, receive it as His word of exhortation and empowerment to us.  It is a calling and a commissioning to show people the way to the King.  We can rise up and make a difference because of the power of the One within us!  Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12) and His indwelling presence empowers us to be what He is.  He that is in us is mightier and much more powerful that whatever is out there in the world (1 John 4:4).  As He speaks this word forth, it is as though He flicks on a switch and says - as the Father did thousands of years ago - “Let there be light”.  (Genesis 1:3).  He breaks the darkness as completely as when a light is turned on in a darkened room and His word is made flesh through you and me, the sons and daughters of the King!

Dear friend, God is calling us to “Arise”.  This means we have to step away from fear and anxiety and take a conscious and intentional step towards His Glory.  We stand up to be who He called us to be, releasers of Heaven on the earth, the ones who say “let Your Kingdom come”!  We can shatter the darkness by just being who we have been born to be – the no-compromise children of light, the children of our Father, and carriers of His heavenly might!  When we choose to arise and shine, it is in the power of Jesus’ unquenchable, fiery light. 

The Father says to us today “Fear not, My child and set your eyes firmly on Me.  Focus on the fire of My love, My unchanging nature and sovereignty.  If you keep your eyes on Me, you will have the right perspective.  You will be full of My light and there is no darkness in your destiny.  Fear not My child for I have covered you with My righteous right hand, and no weapon formed against you can prosper.  I am releasing upon you My heavenly peace which equips you to overcome the snares of the enemy.  There is nothing out there that surprises or stumbles Me.  I see it all before it ever comes to be.  I live in the midst of peace and this peace is what I release over every storm.  We can do it together if you declare the Truth with Me.  So turn your gaze on Me and receive, and then in My power set the captives free.  The truth is that the things of darkness are nothing before Me and there is no way you can be defeated unless you believe the lies of the enemy.  Before the battle ever began We already had the victory!  I break every deception off your heart and your life today, and place on you the power of My truth as I draw you into where you are meant to be.  You were born to change the world, to be a burning, fiery, shining light for Me!” 

Matthew 6:22 says “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light”.  As we feed on the Light, He fills us up with life and strength, and the power of His Might.  He draws us away from the things of the world and deeper into His glory.  He recalibrates our thoughts and brings us into alignment with His heart.  He enables us to arise and shine with the fire of His holy presence in a dark and fearful world!  He makes His sons and daughters the carriers of His glory and the ones who release heaven on the earth!

Take heart dear friend and know that Almighty God is with you.  Things may look bad but God! There is a spirit of fear and intimidation around us but those who know their God will be strong and do great exploits in His name.  (Daniel 11:32).   You were born for such a time as this, to shine in this hour because the presence of darkness makes the light even more deeply needed.  Sin abounds but His grace abounds all the more (Romans 5:20).  When you step into a place, His light has come!  Draw near to Him.  Know Him.  Let His perfect light shine deep into the depths of your soul and out into the world.  Arise and shine; His light has come!
