How grateful are we? A Thanksgiving poem. "2015"
It seems to me, it is a good thing to ask - how grateful we are, no matter our past; I met a man at the Veterans parade, a POW of the Korean tirade - He was so thankful to God and to man, they stripped him of things but because God had a plan; He survived with both life and limb, became a Chaplain to represent Him - Who saved his life and saved his soul, now he tells all men how they can be made whole; For 32 months he was kept in a cell, he saw many a man go thru a living hell - 55 degrees below zero the temperature got, He often wondered why this was his lot; The thing that spoke to me, as I talked to this man - was the lack of bitterness, in this Jesus fan; He was grateful for life, and as experience told - that God will help you, be strong and be bold; Have you ever looked at the star's, that fill the night sky's - Have you seen the smile of a baby, that speaks without reply; Have you seen the beauty, of a flower in bloom - Have you felt the excitement, of a soldier coming home soon; I for one can only speak for me, and you can only speak for you - Of how thankful we are, for all we can see and do; So ever stay thankful, for all the blessings you enjoy - Don't get too upset, when Satan tries to annoy; God is good and He's never wrong, He turns us from being weak to strong - So let us ever be grateful as thru life we go, Let us trust in God's word for His word is so; Happy Thanksgiving to all you my friends - Let this good attitude never ever end.
