Be Ye Thankful

Col 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Beloved, how thankful are you for God's wonderous works for you?

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Ps 100:4

Being thankful is described as;
- Showing appreciation or gratitude
- being grateful
- being appreciative

Also It is;
- an expression of gratitude.
- A public celebration in acknowledgement of divine favour.
- to be grateful or thankful for something

Furthermore being thankful is:
- to view as valuable
- to be fully conscious of;
- be aware of; detect.
In other words we need to be fully conscious of our position in the body of Christ and be thankful for our redempion. In this household what rules is the peace of God in the Heart. This is what we are called into...the peace of God.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Rom 5:1

When you receive this peace, you are justified and keeps your heart and mind in that bond of perfectness. The peace ..eirene..gk, of God sets you at one, brings in health and safety and leads you into prosperity.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Php 4:7

Apostle Paul is saying look at the benefits of which you have been ushered into and be thankful ...eucharistos..gk, meaning ...well favoured, ...grateful, ..thankful.
Be sensitive enough to detect every little thing you might not think of and mostly overlooked and know that it is because you are well favoured.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Col 3:17

Be thankful to both God and neighbor. Let us put on the expression of gratitude and public showing of the divne favour you have receive.

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Col 1:12

Jesus requires from us that we will be grateful and return the thanksgiving to God. When we do we will receive more of His favour.

And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. Lk 17:16-18

Where will you be identified, with the nine ingrate or the one who was thankful?

The thankful heart is sensitive to detect he is well favoured and cry out with expression of gratitude.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, Lk 17:15
Beloved look at what a thankful heart received ...he was made whole not only cleansed.
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. Lk 17:19

A thankless person may soon loose is favour and fall into the snare of the fowler from which he was once delivered because he never appreciated the deliverance he received. He will go and sin again and be trapped with a worse thing than he was first delivered.

A thankful person after being well favoured will go and sin no more because he has viewed his deliverance valuable and will be fully conscious of or be aware of the great salvation received.

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Eph 5:20

Being thankful, he therefore follow instruction in righteousness by letting the peace of God received rule in his heart and have focus on God.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isa 26:3

A thankful person's mind stays on his God for his present and future supplies. He is never worried, he trusts the supplier. Thanking God for yesterday's supply means your know He is the God of yesterday, today and forever.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Php 4:6

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 2 Cor 4:15

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Heb 13:15


Be ye thankful beloved!
