I see it all the time.  Women striving for beauty and worth, significance and value.  This striving is so tragically burdensome.  But I understand.  I’ve been in that pain-filled struggle.  My Sister,  Jesus desires to transform you into a woman unpressured to BE the “something” that most women cannot even quite put their finger on.

We are meant to know the joy of simply being God’s.  His daughter.  His treasured possession.  His beloved.  His bride.  There are many stunning women of God who have lived out this radiant joy, this magnificently simply beauty.  From these I have learned what it means to simply be His and be transformed into beautiful worth.  Esther is one of those women.  No doubt she was very beautiful in many ways, but when she went before the king she was captivating.  Unique in her beauty.  For wrapped up and woven into her soul was a selfless, serving, and generous heart.  While all the other candidates for queen came laden down with jewels they had chosen for themselves, she came before the king with the simple desire to bear only what would please the king.  Like the crowning jewel that could be lost in all the glitter and glam of palace treasuries, radiant beauty is set apart with stunning simplicity.  Not laden and burdened.  Not striving.  Not taking.  It seeks out what will bless others.  Then offers that.  This little key unlocks doors and windows of our feminine soul that when flung wide open allows the Holy Spirit to breathe through with refreshing sweetness to whisk away the burdening things.  It leaves behind a single question for the one who counsels us as women:  If I come into the Presence of my King, desiring to bring only what will please Him, then what, Holy Spirit, will please my King?

A wholehearted love for God.
A pure heart from which that love can flow with glad abandon.
A life holy to Him.
A life radically filled with Jesus, filled to spilling measures.

Like Esther, we are invited into the treasuries of the King, into His Word gleaming with gold and silver and precious stones of truth and promises, from beginning to end the words are living jewels to adorn our souls.  They are simple, unassuming, so the world misses the measure of their worth.   But our King doesn’t seem to place as much value in the things we are so starstruck by:  the shiny achievements, the glossy perfections, the glittery lists and plans of our own control.  No.  What captivates His heart is the transfixing beauty of simply being His and desiring to bring into His Presence that which pleases Him.  In this a woman is beautifully enough.
