FAITHBASED LIVING

As a Christian it is difficult to live a life our Heavenly Father meant us to live.  Victory is suppose to become our “normal” way of life as we embark on the journey of growth.

Yet it is not the case. Your average believer in Jesus Christ finds it very difficult to really navigate around the storms of life that seems to hit him or her expectedly or unexpectedly.

With the storms comes the added stress of life’s circumstances that forces us to adapt and change. Nothing stays constant and as this cycle of change keeps on effecting the believer’s life our faith in Christ must never waver.

This is easier said than done though when the believer is bombarded with the world’s ideas of how to cope in these times as well ideas coming from a corrupt church that does not stand firmly on the Word of God alone. The Church of Christ need to realize that the only consistency we as believers have left are the solid foundation of God’s Word and our faith in Christ Jesus alone.

Without it we will be tossed in the waves of life as the Word of God and our faith in our Savior gives us direction as well as the power and help we need in order to navigate through these waves.

Nevertheless we are in this wave tossed life with a purpose and as we navigate through it with thehelp and guidance through the Holy Spirit we are to stand on the Word of God alone. We cannot rely on people, our wealth or on our own thinking to give us direction and purpose when we need it the most.

Jesus taught His disciples on the mount: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 5: 17-20 NIV

The above scripture underlines the importance of staying in God’s Word as well as showing us how highly God values His Word. Thus in conclusion we can surely say that a faith based life starts by abiding in God’s Word as well as using it as our direction in our lives.

Once we can start living a Word based life the faith based elements of our faith in Jesus Christ shall certainly follow.
