The virtually inherited love of a spoiled splendor-dj eckert

Oh,
Estranged beauty and wonder of my youth
I relive you in my head

Like...

Sitting
perched atop a
conquered scrubby oak

Wondering
should I have shimmied
up that other,
more enticing
branch instead?

flicking
the ant crawling up my scuffed up arm,

looking
below me
induces dread

lamenting
"Oh these vampire bugs,
how they torment me!"

Slapping
a mosquito against my head

claiming
kingship over
new found views of the wondrous things
that my little mind can pretend!.

Daring
to reach out to my young friend ...

I start to feel
my throne beneath me quickly begin to bend!

Oh ! The spoiled splendor!

is THIS the future spoiled splendor of our progeny? )

Sitting
perched atop my conquered throne,
a comfy four wheeled
padded chair

Wondering,
should I have
clicked
on that other,
more enticing
icon over there?

flicking
the mouse held in my cramped up arm

looking
around me induces dread

lamenting
"Oh, these viral bugs, how they torment me!"
slapping
a palm
against my head

claiming
kingship over new found screens
of the virtual things
that my little mind can pretend!.

Daring
NOT to reach out
to a friend...

or to even REALLY feel; (it's beneath me)
