Keep Yourself

1Jn 5:18
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

The begotten of God is one that has the seed of God. To receive that seed is to be conceived and given birth to by the Holy Spirit. The spirit gives birth to spirit.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 Jn 3:9

By the genetic make up of the spirit of the begotten of God, the 'sinnable' thing or nature has been remove. Because of that Apostle John says you do not sin. How?

He has the ability to refuse sin and keep himself or herself from sin.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. Jas 1:27

Apostle John says he that is begotten of God keeps ...tereo..gk, meaning ...to guard, ...hold fast, ...keep, ...preseve, ...reserve, ...watch., himself.

What are we to keep ourselves from?
We are to keep ourselves from sin. Sin is a legal right of entry for the devil.

Sin not, as that element of sin has been dealt with by Jesus nailing it to the cross.

Sin ...hamartano..gk, means ...to miss the mark, ...to err, ...to sin, ...offend, ...trespass.

Do you have the seed of God in you? If you do, you cannot sin.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Pro 4:23

Jesus said go and sin no more. Consider it thoughtfully.
YSin is a door, darkness, Satan and legal right for Satan to wreck havoc in your life.

So beloved keep yourself from sin. And the devil cannot and will not touch you because of Jesus' hedge of protection around you and your things.

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. 1 Jn 5:21

Concerning the words of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. Ps 17:4

Apostle John says when we keep ourselves from sin then the wicked one ...poneros..gk, meaning ...hurtful, ...calamity, ...disease, ...wickedness, touches us not.

In other words, save yourself from the works of Satan, which is to hurt, cause disease and calamity.
As you keep yourself then you save youself From the snares of the fowler and the pits dug for us in our way, of which the Lord delivers us from all.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. Ps 91:3

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 2Tim 4:18

I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. Ps 119:101

We have need to be aware that we are begotten of God and to walk consciously with that knowledge and stay within where the evil one touches us not.

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude 1:21
