Let your Eye be Single

Mt 6:22-23
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

God said let there be light and there was light. This light illumine every one the comes into the world. The windows through which the light shines is the eye.

The windows of the body brings in the light to shine forth on our pathways. The light of God's Word enters and transforms us through the eye as we look and behold His Word as in a mirror.

By the eyes of the mind we see those things that be not in the unseen community and make them real. Therefore as we are enlightened we receive liberty from every darkness desiring to have dominion over us.

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: Eph 5:8

It is true that we have or possess two eyes to see and have a view of all around us. However,

We are admonished to let our eye be Single ...haplous..gk, meaning ...clear, ...single. Single is also described as not divided among or not brought to bear on more than one object or objective

In other words, we should let our eye be fixed on one object of worship, the Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. In our work life we should have one objective.

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: Col 3:22

The singleness of purpose is to gaze on the unseen Word sitting on the throne. This will cause our whole body to be full of light and that light dispels every root of darkness in our lives.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb 12:2

As we look we are changed or transfigured into the glorious image of the son of God who is building himself into us.

The cause of sin, stealing, kiling and destruction today in the world and country today is the refusal to have a single eye.

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Eph 4:18

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 2 Cor 11:3

When the eye, the windows of the body become evil, darkness will take over who already laid at the door to have dominion and your life will be full of activities of darkness. The evil eye only behold evil and creates and crafts one, full of mischief and sin.

But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 1 Jn 2:11

Jesus says ...
If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! The result is sin, failure, rejection, sickness etc. The door or window of the body is corrupted and Satan will have access into your life.

Many a time we profess Christ and behave in a contrary manner in so doing cannot keep our focus and singleness of purpose.

Let your eye be single, looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.
