Sometimes I feel like God's big old fruit tree,... one that was planted by the living waters of life long ago. My roots go deep into the source of my nutrition, my good soil,.... my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, The Son of the Living God.

I have seen so many storms in my life and severe winters that it looked like I would never revive again, ....yet I always came back to life because I was planted in good soil when I was young.
I have been chipped at, hacked at, cut on, burned, had branches broken off and ran into by evil vehicles traveling at high rates of speed, ....yet this old tree still stands.


I have watched men. women, and children play under the cool shade of my branches (counsel) as refuge from the heat of life.
Many have enjoyed the fruits of charity on my limbs wherein there was blessings, and I gave it freely, for I received it freely.
Others built their nest in my branches, for even though they flew far away from me, they knew I would be there to always receive them back home again.
Some say they will never return, but I shall always love and remember them even if they do not care to love or remember me.

I am old now and long for their friendship again, but they play & eat somewhere else. They have flown away and made their nest in other trees that do not have their best interest in mind. Therefore will the soul of my roots sing and song of mercy unto my Master to bring them home safely

Finally though all these things have come to pass before me..... I still feel the strength of my Master flowing through my roots,,,, up into my branches....and out into my fruits..... for there are others coming to play, to enjoy my shade, to eat of the fruit that my Master will have me bear...... and if, for His reasons, I should only last another winter or 2 of hardships...... it will be because my Master still has need of me to be a blessing.
O' Lord, when my time comes to fall to the ground, let me do it with dignity and honor to Your name........amen.
