With preponderance of prophecy
Fulfilled as in God's Word,
We must awake our sleepy eyes
Believing what we've heard.

Described as women's birth pangs,
As only the beginning,
With frequency, intensity,
Becomes much more convincing.

As evident in global news,
The time seems drawing near,
When rapidly the day will come
When Jesus will be here.

A general expectancy,
A spiritual awareness,
And yet we too may be in error,
And so we speak in fairness...

They've said for ages we are ripe,
The end will come and soon,
And so we hesitate to add
Our voices to that croon.

But could it be? Could He come soon?
What do we have to lose,
If we are still more conscious
To live as He would choose?

To live our lives intentionally
To please our Lord of lords,
To lead to Him the ones in need,
And see His love outpoured.

For after all, that's just our task
As we live day by day,
His children meant to give as given,
His love to show the way.

As grace received, in grace we give,
Forgiveness thus outpoured,
We have been blessed so we can bless,
The needy and ignored.

So let Him find us at our task,
Whatever be the day,
To lay our offerings at His feet,
Our love for Him display.
