Today is the age of the mega-church and the mega-corporation. It is common sense that top CEOs would earn more money than their employees, but have you ever wondered how much more are they really taking in?
According to Glassdoor Economic Research (as of August 2015) the average CEO pay of S&P 500 companies was $13.8 million per year while the average median worker pay was about $77,800, and the average ratio of CEO pay to median worker pay was in.
What this means is that on average, CEOs earn 204 times more than what his or her employees earn. There are some CEOs who earn even more, and some who earn much less.
Within a few years from now, in 2017, public companies will be required to share the ratio of CEO salaries to worker salaries. This will give the average consumer a better idea as to the disparity between the two.
