Pray in the Holy Ghost


Jude 1:20
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

God is Spirit and they that worship must do in spirit and in reality. In addition to our forms and norms of worship, the Lord seeks such as will worship him in spirit which is paramount

To start with, one must be born of the spirit to offer such worship. The reason Jesus came baptising with the Holy Spirit and to be therefore filled with power on high.

The one to do the praying is your spirit which has become one with the Lord's spirit. The Word affirms ...

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 1 Cor 6:17

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 1 Cor 14:14

Without the spirit, whatever we are doing is being religious. A Christian is one who is in unison with the Lord and to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable by Jesus Christ.

Apostle Jude admonishes us to build up ourselves by praying ...proseuchomai..gk, meaning ...to pray to God, ...supplicate, ...worship, ...pray, ...make prayer, in the Holy Ghost.

In other words we should make prayer by the aid of the Holy Ghost granting us utterances as He dwells in us.

The Holy Spirit searching your heart knows the mind of the spirit and will help us pray according to the will of God. Your Soul may not know what we ought to pray but with the aid of the Spirit, He makes intercession on our behalf.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Rom 8:26

Why are we to pray in the Holy Ghost?

That is, we are Building up ...epoikodomeo..gk, meaning ...to build upon, ...to rear up, ...build thereon, our most holy faith to be edified or emboldened in our fight of faith.

As we pray in the Holy Ghost, we are edified or emboldened or charging ourselves. By that we speak mysteries in the realms of the spirit because the Christian life is a life of Heaven in the earth or living in two worlds at the same time.

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. ...
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself;... 1 Cor 14: 2-4

This is because man is a spirit being and it is only by the spirit can we function in that realm. So the spirit connects the realm, downloads the realities and then makes it accessible for the soul, mind, to connect to the realms of the physical.

The mind is unfruitful or do not understand when we pray in the Holy Ghost but when you build up on your most holy faith, the spirit will bring you the interpretation to know the mind of the spirit. This is because we have the mind of the Spirit.

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Rom 8:27

The Holy Spirit Himself helps you to pray with the most sacred utterances according to the will of God as it is in Heaven.

The quickest way to activate your spirit and embolden yourself is to pray in the Holy Ghost. So then pray in the Holy Ghost and pray with the understanding also because we are both a spiritual and a physical being.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 1 Cor 14:15

Beloved, ever be filled with the Spirit building up yourself in praying in the Holy Ghost.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Eph 6:18
