I had finished my task in life trying to mold and shape my children into what I thought they should be and I said “You have done your part; take it easy and enjoy your life”. So I took a stroll down through a rose garden that I had walked through when I was very young. There were many flowers that I didn’t recognize, but there was one I looked anxiously to see; there it was not as strong and colorful as it used to be, but it was my special rose. I rushed over to hold and touch it. I was so gloriously happy to find my special rose again. As I touched it I saw it was very fragile. The petals were beginning to fall. How did I miss the time of her beauty and fragrance rushing about not knowing how fleeting life is? As I stood looking, a breeze came by and another petal fell and then another. I tried so desperately to hold her together. ”Wait! I have the time now. I’ll take you into my beautiful house and find the loveliest vase and place it where I can enjoy you every minute.” But the breeze continued to blow and seemed to say “to everything there is a season.” You’ve learned too late the days and seasons have passed. But I said “Please, I have time for her and all it takes to enjoy life with her.” Then I thought it is written, “If a man dies shall he live again?” New hope gripped my heart. The beautiful rose that I had waited too long to enjoy will bloom again in heaven’s beautiful flower garden. There no cold winds will blow her petals away, but her beauty will be greater than before—standing tall and lovely. My rose will bloom again with perfection and more beauty than our finite minds can imagine.
