Week 2 Day 2 What is in your hand?
IT’S ALL ABOUT WHAT YOU DO WITH THAT WHICH IS IN YOUR HANDS

And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. 1 Kings 17: 12


If you tell your story for self pity, you undermine your prosperity. It is not the size of what is in your hands that matters. It is all about what you do with that which is available in your hands. The widow in the opening verse had only a handful of handful of meal, and a little oil but God saw a source of supply for several years. What she did with the little she had was to commit it to the prophet, in other words commit it to God and by so doing, he preservation was secured. The story of God’s first encounter with Moses also reinforces this point. What Moses saw as a rod in his hand, God saw as an instrument for great miracles. Do not despise the little things in your life. Do not despise humble beginnings. David saw only 5 stones but he did something unique, he committed it to the God of war and victory was his. Jesus fed thousands after he had committed a few loaves of bread and few fishes to God. Commit what you have in your hands today to God and put it to work. Your attitude should not be like Esau who despised his birthright because it couldn’t provide him with dinner when he was sore hungry.

Prayer
Dear Father Lord, I thank you for the gifts you have freely given me today. I commit the work of my hands to you Lord. As you did with Moses, the Widow and David, manifest your power and glory through what I have in my hands today in Jesus Name.Amen Further Reading;
