Stinkin Thinkin

There is a whole lot of stinkin thinkin going on by the world and the church.

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

We are what we think. That does not mean that we are correct necessarily. A person that does not know Christ has no absolutes of right or wrong. Even many Christians have not learned to have the mind of Christ.

I think of the Bruce Jenner fiasco. Because many people do not or will not believe or recognize the existence of demonic spirits they end up deceived and thinking against the truth of Jesus Christ. He was born a man by God's design and just because he has now surgically removed the man parts of his body does not make him a woman. He is just a man without his sexual parts. I feel real sorry for him as he obviously is in a state of confusion as he cannot really know who or what he is. He yielded to a demon spirit and decided to call the lie truth and act upon it. For a season he may enjoy what he did, but eventually it will catch up to him as sin has pleasure for a season only.

When a person is born in the natural they are born in sin. Most are born with demon spirits within them. These spirits are constantly speaking to them and giving them desires that are ungodly. Being that they do not know the truth of God's Word they just think that it is them. They do not recognize that the desire or thought is originating from a demon spirit within them. They may in their head think that the desire is wrong but find themselves unable to resist the desire or thought. When we do not know Jesus or have the Holy Spirit within us, we are powerless to overcome many things. It is much easier to give in to whatever desire or the thought is within rather than to challenge it and try to be different. If we are born a man, then we are a man. If we are born a woman then we are a woman. Just because we have a demon spirit in us telling us differently does not change this.

Whether a Christian or a non Christian we all face the same issues. Our mind gets us into trouble. We think on things that get us into problems as we end up doing what is in our mind. We believe the lie of the devil that this is who or what we are or what we should do. It takes no courage to give in to the devil, it takes courage to resist and win. All actions must first have a thought first, which makes it a choice on our part. We can choose to think on something and then act it out, or we can learn to cast it down (resist it). The choice is ours.

2 Corinthians 10:

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Our fight is against the demon spirits not so much our self. We must learn to separate the demon spirit from us and realize if we deal with the spirits behind a problem then the problem will go away. The worlds way(and sadly to say much of the Church's way) is to focus on the fruit of the problem not the root cause. If you chop down a tree then there will be no more fruit growing on it. If you just cut off a limb, it will come right back.

I have personally gone through much deliverance in my life. I had demon spirits within me that were passed down to me from my parents. I took on demon spirits before I met Jesus that had to be cast out. I know the power that they have only because I yielded to them out of a lack of knowledge. A sexual spirit can have great power without the Holy Spirit to strengthen us to resist and fight it. It is much easier to give in to our sexual lusts and desires than to try to fight them especially when they are so enjoyable to our flesh. Just because a person may have a desire for a person that is of the same gender, does not truthfully make them a homosexual or lesbian. It is the demon spirit that is in them that causes them to desire in this way. I will use this example as everyone has experienced this in some form or time in their life, The subject is fear. What does God say that fear is?

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

God says that fear is a spirit. Fear is not you. It is a demon spirit that did not come from God. It takes what from us? It takes power, love and a sound mind. Usually a person believes that this fear is them. Yet this is a lie. The fear is a demonic spirit and is of the devil. The devil is the one that is afraid. He attempts to convince a person that it is them. Why does the devil use this on people? His objective is to kill, steal and destroy. God says we are to walk in power, love and a sound mind. If we are walking in fear then we are robbed of what God desires. Once robbed we miss having what God desires for us to have or the ability to stand for God against the devil. The enemy always wants to keep us from God and keep us from having what God desires for us to have. The sexual is no different. If the devil can convince us that as a man we are a woman or vice versa, then he has succeeded in robbing us from what God desired for us.

When not a Christian, we do not have our minds renewed by God's Word so we really do not know what truth is. We are led by our feelings and emotions and desires. Many have said over the years "if it feels good, then do it". What a sad way to live. God desires us to be led by His Spirit not by our feelings or desires. Scripture says:

Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

In Christ you learn what truth is and crucify the flesh and the lusts that originate from the devil. Unfortunately much of the church has not and does not teach people how to think. We are to cast down imaginations and every high thing that is against the knowledge of Christ. A person that does not know Christ won't know to do or know how to do this. They are in the devils playground and are taken captive at his will. Sure lots of things are enjoyable to our flesh but that does not mean that they are good for us. Sin has pleasure for a season but afterwards brings death. If it does not kill you physically it will certainly kill you spiritually.

Until we learn how to think correctly we all are going to miss much of what God has in mind for each of us. We are told:

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Having the mind of Christ is a choice. It is not automatic because we became a Christian. We can have the mind of Christ, or the mind of the devil, or the mind of our flesh. It is a choice as to which we yield our self too. The scripture uses the word "let", meaning it is our choice.

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Until the church and the world recognize the existence of demonic spirits, they are going to keep believing the lies of the devil and calling them truth and accepting them. Yet, when we all stand before God the truth will finally come out.
